Marin County Health and Human Services: “Paul Bockrath is incredibly knowledgeable about the material, and his background allows him to present the material in a very engaging way. The many real-world examples of SEMS and NIMS in action add valuable and helpful context to class participants. The way that Paul teaches and engages the class with discussions and activities makes the material easier to understand, more interesting and is ultimately more effective that the online FEMA courses. We received an abundance of positive feedback about his class from individuals who have taken the online courses.
Paul understands the importance of individuals understanding SEMS and NIMS, how they relate to the role of the local and federal government in emergency preparedness and response, and ultimately, the role the individual may play in a response. The passion that Paul has for his work is evident and I believe that same passion is what distinguishes him from other trainers.
The process of working with Paul was easy and clear. Paul and his team are very organized, communicate clearly, and are timely with necessary documentation and information.”
California Department of Water Resources: “Paul is very professional and accommodating. I would highly recommend Paul His schedule can be tight so plan in advance by 3 months or so. He has great follow-through, is quick to respond to any requests for information, and he has a breadth of experience that allows him to tailor content and discussions to your audience. He also has many additional resources that he provides to assist you with your particular issues and challenges.”
Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services: “The Mariposa County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is pleased to provide the opportunity to recommend Preparative Consulting for Emergency Management curriculum training. Mariposa County has had the pleasure of working with Paul and Candise Bockrath of Preparative Consulting on a number of projects locally, as well as during a Level I Activation of our OA’s EOC, during the Detwiler Fire of 2017. Most recently, Mariposa County contracted with Preparative Consulting for countywide employee training in the SEMS/NIMS Combined Course (G-606).
Paul Bockrath and Partner, Candise Bockrath, delivered this training in a professional format, utilizing a good mix of teaching components, all the while engaging the audience and relating important subject matter to a multitude of professional disciplines.
Paul demonstrates strong understanding of technical knowledge in the subject matter. His willingness to “go the extra mile” was seen as Paul answered questions to participants at breaks and after the course, even offering to exchange additional subject-specific material to employees who wished to provide him with their business cards.
I believe Paul’s knowledge of the material covered in this course is second to none. I personally received numerous remarks of praise for Preparative Consulting from a multitude of professionals who work across various departments within Mariposa County government.
I gladly endorse Preparative Consulting for any of your agency’s Emergency Management Training needs.”
San Juan Water District: “The San Juan Water District has had the pleasure of working with Preparative Consulting on several occasions. Preparative Consulting has delivered SEMS, NIMS, and ICS training to all of our staff. The training was very well received and Preparative Consulting did a great job of applying the course content to the work we do here as a Special District. They gave several examples of how our staff would use SEMS, NIMS, and ICS to work with our County (Operational Area) and the various cities we serve as customers. After the training, I received several positive comments from our staff who enjoyed the training and found it very helpful and valuable should they ever need to apply it to a real world incident or disaster.
I have also had the opportunity to attend several EOC Section/Position Specific trainings provided by Preparative Consulting that was hosted by the Placer County Office of Emergency Services. I really enjoyed this training and felt it has helped me become better prepared in my role as the Operations Manager. I have found Preparative Consulting to be very professional, reliable, and experienced in their training and exercise delivery. Finally, I have had the opportunity to also work with Preparative Consulting in designing and delivering a county-wide, multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional Functional Exercise. Placer County activated their Operational Area EOC and the EOCs for the cities of Lincoln and Rocklin. I represented the San Juan Water District and other participants included the US Bureau of Reclamation, Placer County Water Agency, NOAA, PG&E, Red Cross, and others. This exercise was well organized and delivered. All of Preparative Consulting’s staff were professional and very knowledgeable. The exercise was a great success.
I would definitely recommend Preparative Consulting for any of your Emergency Management Training or Exercise needs.”
